Anouska Gammon

DIRECTOR

Anouska has had extensive experience in the performing arts for over 30 years and has founded and fostered theatre companies, acting academies and multiple original theatrical works in the Northern Rivers over the past 10 years. From growing up in the Northern Rivers, and having the best childhood on offer, Anouska left the area to study and extend her skills in the performing arts. Returning home, and bringing her family with her has solidified her need and passion to teach, create and explore the performing arts and media industries, and to build a community that understands with great foundation, the importance and enrichment that the arts can offer.

Working with a multitude of ages, Anouska has created many wonderfully rich connections with local actors and performers, both professional and amateur and is especially passionate about creating, connecting and providing opportunities for Northern Rivers locals. You might find her choreographing a Bollywood wedding for a TV series, adapting a local author's novel for a stage production, directing a site-specific theatre work performed on abandoned train tracks under a bridge, co-facilitating and producing a film festival for kids, running workshops and acting courses to all ages and also being a mum to 3 kids.

Anouska currently lectures at Southern Cross University in Arts Education, teaches dance and drama at local primary and secondary schools and is President of Bangalow Theatre Company, a not-for-profit, community centric theatre company which has recently adapted to COVID restrictions by producing TakeOver 2020.

Bobbie Field

DIRECTOR

Bobbie grew up training as a Rhythmic gymnast, representing Australia from a young age. With a love for performing she stepped onto the stage with Sydney’s Glen Street Theatre Company and ultimately found her passion lay behind the scenes in Stage Management and Production. She has since worked on Shakespeare in Amsterdam, and original productions in Sydney and Byron Bay.

Travelling is Bobbie’s other passion and she has been fortunate to have spent years on the road exploring diverse cultures in Asia, Africa, and Europe. Meeting people from all walks of life and collaborating with local creatives on her travels. She made a short film in India and recorded an original song in Tanzania. Bobbie spent many years moving between Sydney and London, managing 5 star restaurants and Interior Design showrooms. When Bobbie moved to Byron Bay in 2014 she brought with her an eclectic background and joined Bangalow Theatre company’s Production Team, and became the Arts Administrator & Producer for BANG! Academy of Performing Arts.

Here she met Anouska and after working on many productions together they created Byron Casting. Alongside her love of Performing Arts, Bobbie brings professional business experience, exceptional client relationship skills, and the ability to calmly juggle many balls. This provides a perfect partnership with Anouska’s creative flair.
